Privacy Policy — Thrift Pilot AI

This Privacy Policy explains how Thrift Pilot AI ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you create an account and use the App and related services (including any web login experience).

1) Who We Are (Data Controller)
Thrift Pilot AI is operated by Gardinite ("we", "us"). We are responsible for deciding how and why your personal information is processed ("data controller" in many privacy laws).

2) Quick Summary of What We Collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:
- Account identifiers: name, username, email, phone number
- User content: item photos and scan content, item notes/details
- Location (optional): precise GPS location (only with your permission)
- Marketplace connections (optional): connection tokens/authorization credentials needed to connect and publish to third-party marketplaces (we do not receive your marketplace password)
- Listing/publishing data (optional): listing details you choose to export/publish (photos, title/description, category, price, optional location)
- Purchase/subscription info: subscription status and receipt/transaction signals (through app stores and RevenueCat)
- Usage & diagnostics: app interaction events, crash logs, performance data
- Advertising/attribution data (if enabled): ad interaction/attribution signals and device identifiers such as advertising IDs
3) Information We Collect
A) Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name
- Username
- Email address
- Phone number
- Authentication-related information (e.g., Google Sign-In or web login)
B) Content and App Data You Provide
We collect and store information you choose to provide, such as:
- Item photos (from camera or gallery)
- Item titles and notes
- Brand and category
- Purchase price and target resale price
C) Location Information (GPS)
With your permission, we may collect precise location information (GPS) from your device to support App features (for example, attaching a location to a scan or organizing items). You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
D) Marketplace Connections (Optional)
If you choose to connect your account to a third-party marketplace (for example, eBay or other selling platforms we may support now or in the future), we may collect and store information required to enable that connection, such as:
- Authorization tokens / connection credentials (often provided through a secure authorization flow)
- Basic connection status information (e.g., whether your marketplace account is connected)
We do not collect or store your marketplace password.
E) Marketplace Publishing Data (Optional)
If you choose to publish or export a listing from the App to a marketplace, we will process and send the listing information you choose, which may include:
- item photos
- title/description
- category/brand
- pricing (purchase price / target resale price / listing price)
- optional location details (if you include them)
F) Purchases and Subscription Data
Subscriptions are processed through Apple/Google in-app purchases. We use RevenueCat to help manage subscriptions. RevenueCat may process subscription-related data (such as product identifiers, purchase status, and receipt validation information) to provide subscription services.
G) Usage, Analytics, and Diagnostics
We use Firebase and Google Analytics to understand how the App is used and to improve reliability and performance. These services may collect:
- usage events (e.g., app opens, feature usage)
- performance and crash/diagnostic signals
- device and general network information that may be necessary to provide analytics and security (for example, device characteristics and IP-derived region)
4) How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- create and manage your account
- provide the App's features (including saving items and scan history)
- provide AI-powered functionality (analyzing item photos/details to generate results)
- enable marketplace connections you request
- publish/export listings at your direction
- process and manage subscriptions
- measure performance, fix bugs, and improve the App
- provide customer support
- run marketing, measurement, and attribution for ads (where enabled)
- protect users and the App (fraud prevention, security, enforcement)
5) AI Processing and Training
We may process your item photos and related item details to provide AI features in the App.
We do not use your photos or content to train AI models.
6) Advertising, Marketing, and Attribution (Meta + TikTok)
We may run ads on platforms like Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and TikTok.
Depending on how we implement marketing measurement, we may use advertising/attribution tools (such as SDKs or similar technologies) that help us:
- measure ad performance (e.g., installs, sign-ups, subscriptions)
- understand which campaigns are effective
- prevent fraud
These tools may process information such as:
- advertising identifiers (e.g., IDFA on iOS where permitted, Android Advertising ID)
- device/app events (e.g., install, app open, sign-up, purchase)
- general network information (which may include IP-derived region)
Your controls:
- On iOS, if we request App Tracking Transparency permission, you can allow/deny tracking.
- On Android, you can reset/limit your advertising ID in system settings.
- You can also limit permissions and settings on your device.
7) How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information in these limited situations:
- Service providers: vendors that help run the App (hosting/storage, analytics, push notifications, subscription management). This includes Firebase/Google Analytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging (push), and RevenueCat for the purposes described above.
- Advertising/attribution partners (where enabled): platforms/tools used to measure and optimize ads (for example, Meta and TikTok measurement/attribution tools).
- At your direction (marketplace publishing): if you choose to publish/export a listing to a marketplace, we share the listing information you select with that marketplace.
- Legal and safety: if required by law, or to protect users, prevent fraud, or respond to lawful requests.
- Business changes: if we're involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
8) Third-Party Marketplaces and Their Policies
When you connect to or publish to third-party marketplaces (such as eBay or other selling platforms), those marketplaces process your information under their own privacy policies and terms. We do not control and are not responsible for their practices.
Important: If you publish a listing to a marketplace, copies of that listing and its content may remain on that marketplace even if you delete your account with us. You may need to manage or delete listings directly on the marketplace as well.
9) Marketing Use of Your Photos / Screenshots
We may show screenshots of the App in marketing.
If we ever want to use your specific user-taken photos or identifiable content for marketing (ads, app store visuals, social media), we will only do so with your explicit permission.
10) Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your photo scans and related item data anytime within the App.
If you delete your account, we delete your account data (including stored item data and photos) within a reasonable period, except where we must keep certain information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting obligations.
11) Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- access/update some account information in the App
- delete scans/photos anytime in the App
- delete your account
- control location permissions via device settings
- disconnect marketplace connections (where the App provides this control)
- control ad tracking/advertising ID settings via device settings
- contact support@gardinite.com for privacy requests
12) International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live (for example, where we or our service providers operate). When required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect your information.
13) Legal Bases for Processing (Where Applicable)
Where laws like GDPR apply, we process personal data based on:
- Contract necessity (to provide the App and features you request)
- Consent (e.g., GPS location, certain ad/measurement permissions where required)
- Legitimate interests (e.g., improving the App, security, fraud prevention, measuring marketing effectiveness)
- Legal obligations (e.g., compliance requirements)
14) Children's Privacy
Thrift Pilot AI is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact support@gardinite.com.
15) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date and may provide additional notice in the App or on our website.
